  Political Statement

     1. Political Mission Statement:

United States Community Development is to engage low income citizens in voter’s education and driving Americans seniors to the polls locally and nationally.

         2. Targeted Demographic:

In 2005 there were an estimated 12,975 thousand seniors below the poverty level in Wake County. In the city of Raleigh southeast communities specifically seniors make up a large portion of low income disenfranchised people. We target areas in small groups of disabled seniors such as nursing, retirement and assisted living facilities. USCD brings voter drive education and bipartisan information to each resident who lack access. (Sources American Community Survey Data set 2006.

 USCD differ from other organizations:

We gather small groups to allow seniors to address their concerns.

a.    We bring issues that concern senior’s healthcare, housing, economy and the environment.

b.    We welcome politicians to come out and express their policies.

We will continue to bring issues and concerns for seniors during and out of local and national elections.
